Seneca Center provides excellent training and field placement opportunities for MSW interns and MFT trainees in a graduate program. Graduate interns and trainees will receive training and supervision focused on Seneca’s treatment model as well as an area of other training topics. In general, the training settings that we offer are most appropriate for advanced students who have already had some exposure to clinical populations and work with clients. First year students with suitable experience and interests will be considered. In order to minimize transition for children and families, interns are asked to commit to a 9-10 months placement with Seneca Center.
Seneca Center Graduate students experience:
- an intensive orientation to Seneca Center’s population served, values, philosophy, and practice at the beginning of their first year;
- an opportunity to choose from an array of programs including: community treatment facilitates, group home residential programs, public or private school based programs, multiple community based programs, wraparound programs, and emergency response programs;
- training on the Seneca Center treatment model;
- weekly supervision by a Seneca employee with an the appropriate degree or license;
- quarterly training for intern cohort; and
- an opportunity to receive stipend.
